Making My Home A Haven is important to me. Sharing homemaking skills. Recipes and food. Bible Studies. This is a treasure chest of goodies. So take a seat. Have a glass of tea and enjoy. You will learn all about who I am.
I wanted to post a little about the week but wasn’t able to get it at the very beginning. Not sure why. Our Week was very uneventful, even for us. Danny took off as he usually does on his short week. One week he works 7 days, then he works 3. So he will take the 3 days off…with his 2 days off at the beginning of the week and then 2 days off at the end it makes 7 days…One week.
He actually worked 8 and a half days before he took off so he was really ready for a break. Winter has been busy. Snow birds have gone home and locals are here.
Things have been busier than usual. We’ve been short handed. Other issues have cropped up as they always do.
So Danny and I needed this break. He needed rest and relaxation. I needed REST from his talking for hours about work. Did he stop talking about work? No, when you live and work at the same place it is impossible not to. We get our mail at the Ranger Station at the park. 3 miles from home. The radio is on all day. The work radio.
So he talks about WORK. I talk about WORK. His. Mine. It’s all the same.
We went to Walmart 2xs and didn’t even get the groceries we needed. He did get his truck serviced. And we bought a New TV . Something we really hadn’t planned on having to do. (A long story here.)
It was cooler than it has been. Instead of in the upper 80’s, it’s been in the low to mid 80’s. The windows were even open for a couple of days…No AC and fresh air. Noises from the wildlife and the cows. Music to my ears.
It rained. It was SUNNY. We had quiet times. Laughter. Watched NASCAR in TALLEDEGA. Jr won.
I watched MOVIES on the new TV. Beats watching them on a small computer screen.
We ate well. Danny even surprised me with a lunch/dinner at a favorite spot. Awesome food. Better leftovers.
We had a really good…Stay at home do nothing vacation.
Enjoy your evening. The weekend is coming. It is a work one for us.
