Bobby’s Cove At Rolling Meadows Ranch. Restoring The Sod Fields: A Huge Restoration Project.

This is a section of Bobby’s Cove that we have easy access to. With all of the restoration that has taken place in the last 6 years, we are limited in how much we can see here.
I will try and edit these pictures at a later time. I am having trouble getting things to work.

Most of these pictures were taken after we moved to Rolling Meadows Ranch in 2009.

There was a service path across here but water management Re-routed this part of Catfish Creek.
One day I took off on the four-wheeler. I was having a carefree day. One of the few days I was wearing shorts and tennis shoes and not boots and jeans. (Not that it would have mattered to the gator). I rounded a corner an oops. I ran into A WHOLE BUNCH OF BABY GATORS AND THEIR MOMMAS. OOPS. SO what did I do? I started taking pictures. Not the brightest thing I have ever done.

The gators were all over the place that day. I was on an old service path. Now underwater,
Where the creek was diverted.
This is the cove we fell in love with. Early on. Before we moved over to RMR. We were still living at Lake Kissimmee State Park. LKSP. Now named Bobby’s Cove.
The old sod fields. This is also all water again. Do I like all the changes? Of course not. Were they needed? Yes.
This shows a section of the old sod fields and an old service path. No longer there. All underwater.
A very rare (in our area) find. A Roseate Spoonbill Feather. These birds were starting to come back to RMR and Bobby’s Cove. Now I seldom see them because there is too much water in the way.

This is at the far end of Bobby’s Cove. Miles and Miles from home. It is near Lake Hatchineha and where the water has been diverted from.
One of 7 gages Water Management and the Army Corp Of Engineers Placed at RMR. I recorded the heights for 2 years.
