October seems to be a good month for events and projects . Everyone is still in back to school and end of the summer mode.
What is going on in your neck of the woods?
Oh how I wish I was mobile and able to help at the park this week. They are getting ready for a huge wedding and reception Friday Afternoon and Evening. After Hours. EVERYONE at Lake Kissimmee State Park is getting it ready. Even our biologist has been working hard to help out since we are seriously shorthanded.
Both of our managers are down in Day Use Area /Marina cleaning picnic tables. I heard our manager say he was on top of the large pavilion.
I normally would be right there helping.
Not on top of the roof though. I don’t get paid enough for that. LOL
Are you ready for October?
I wrote most of the post below here over the weekend and on Monday. I am getting ready for October 1.
Here are just a few of the many events going on in Bloggerland. If you have an event or know of one I would love to share it here all month long.
One of my favorite books of the Bible is Proverbs. I studied it with Good Morning Girls/Women Living Well a couple of months ago. I missed a lot due to hospital stays so I thought I would re-read this wonderful book this month.
I will be posting from their blog and Facebook page the lessons they shared with us.
Time Warp Wife is starting her class in Proverbs this month
I am looking forward to it.
I’d like to announce an exciting series we have planned for the month of October.
“Praying Through Proverbs” is a 31-day series of prayer.
Our hope is to inspire you to pray for your marriage, and to dig into the word.
I emailed Davonne the other day asking if she’d like to submit a couple of marriage prayers, and she had this fantastic idea to bless us with a series of 31 prayers. Such a beautiful idea!
Every day we’ll have a different marriage prayer based on the 31 chapters of Proverbs.
I’d like to encourage you to read along as we make our way through the book of Proverbs together. There are 31 days in the month, and 31 chapters–a perfect fit!
Please note: You won’t find the prayers here. All of them will be featured on my prayer blog at MarriagePrayers.Today. Head over there and subscribe so you don’t miss a post!
We’ll also be journaling through the book of Proverbs together, one chapter each day. If you don’t know what Bible journaling is, you can read my post here: “I’m Writing a Legacy Letter, But it’s Not What You Think.”
If you’d like to take this one step further, you might want to pick up a copy of Courtney Joseph’s paperback journal, The Book of Proverbs: One Chapter a Day
It’s available on Amazon if you’d like to take a peek at it. I’ve also posted an image below. Please note, this not a Bible study book, it’s a journal.
I was very fortunate to have Courtney send me a Journal to work through this month.
It looks wonderful and should make the studies so much more enjoyable. Sarah

Next Up: Check this Wonderful Challenge Out
I have anxiously awaited this Challenge.
There is no way Danny and I can Spend ZERO in any month.
We buy enough groceries to get us through ONE month, if we are lucky.
There is NO money to buy extras.
I am looking for all the tips I can get and USE to help us STRETCH his paycheck a bit more than we already do.
I feel as it is stretched to the breaking point as it is.
Danny has finally starting cutting down on some of his
“Extra” Treats that cost more than we can spend.
I cut back a long time ago.
This has made it possible for us to
SPLURGE on that one ITEM we each want.
His is his WINE. We buy the $10.00 JUG instead of a more expensive brand.
I seldom even have a sip any more and I miss my glass of wine at night.
Wine makes my hot flashes worse.
I drink Chai Lattes in the fall and winter months.
So far it hasn’t cooler off enough for them.

31 Days of Living Well and Spending Zero: Freeze Your Spending. Change Your Life. Paperback – August 27, 2015
Living Well, Spending Less: 12 Secrets of the Good LifePaperback – December 30, 2014
I am going to do all I can to follow plan all month long.
One thing I won’t do is not take out my $40.00 for Christmas Gifts.
This is something I do all year long. I take it out of MY money to spend.
This money is for Christmas, New Years, and both of our birthdays.
The last 2 years I had to use it on for BILLS.
But at least I had it saved up.
There are 2 Main Events listed here and other smaller ones that you may also do.
If the Living Well Spend Zero is not possible…..This month. Sign up and do it next month or after the New Year.
Start working on Ruth’s Living Well and Spending Less or her “12 Secrets Of The Good Life.”
She really is awesome. She emails back and is just a good friend to have.
Thursday, October 1, 2015….
I worked hard to find events and projects to do in October.
I had them started and waiting to add the rest of the information when it came…
I had PLANNED ON GETTING EVERYTHING EARLY WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 30.
Well as you know, plans don’t always work out the way you want them to.
As usual, for me, I got laid up in bed for most of the last 4 days.
So you are getting them a day or 2 late.
Sorry about that.
I am feeling a bit better.
Weak as a newborn kitty. LOL Are newborn kitty’s weak?
Happy October First.
