Shared From The McCallum’s Shamrock Patch – Bock Beer Onion Soup Gratinee

A slightly different twist on the standard French Onion Soup.
Heidy includes a bit of history as well as a great recipe.
I had to look up the word Gratinee even though I thought it meant au gratin.

gra·ti·né
ˌɡrätnˈā,ˌɡra-/
adjective
adjective: gratinée
  1. another term for au gratin.

Enjoy.
I sure will.

Sounds delicious. Have you made it?

    1. Joanna,
No I haven’t. I plan to. Not sure about the beer though.
I will probably use the beer we have here.
The dish Of Heidy’s that I love is the following.
      http://themccallumsshamrockpatch.com/2015/09/15/braised-chicken-cremini-mushrooms-in-bourbon-sauce/.
Someone gave us the bourbon is the only reason we had it.
When I saw the recipe I knew I had to try it.
It is an awesome dish. Rich and not something you can make all the time.. I bought regular mushrooms ….The others are just too expensive.
I have made this with and without the bourbon.
You can easily use half n half instead of the heavy cream.
      Whatever works for you.
She has wonderful recipes. McCallum’s Shamrock Patch.
Is there any recipes you would like me to find for you?
      I love looking for them.
      Have a wonderful weekend. Sarah
