    Some people are never ready to search deeper. If you are content? Why dig deeper? I would agree that there is good meditation and bad. That is for the individual to discern.

    I would also say, we are given life. To find and praise the supreme being. I am not a Christian. Not am I any other follower of a sect. I was raised as an Anglican but gave up on that over fifty years ago. Yet I believe in God.

    My bible is rusty and I think it’s to be found in Matthew? Seek and ye shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened? Something like that? Do I believe in the notion of Messiah or SatGuru? One human that acts as the fulcrum between our Creator and the world? Maybe? I’m not sure? I believe it is within us all. Yet we do need a signpost or two.

    I can almost guarantee that anyone who today would say. “Love they neighbour as thyself and do unto others as you would have done unto you”. Would be shunned as a nutbar. Especially if it was followed up with, “that the Lord my God has commanded me to tell you, as being the only commandments”.

    That is the person two thousand years later; is being exhorted as being the son of God? Few, of us, even today would actually put it into operation. Always finding rationale for other ways.

    I find it to be a unique piece of philosophy. But it also shows up in Sumerian writing. Later Egyptian and is also part of the Zoroastrian religion. One that Christianity borrows heavily from.

    I am becoming diverted.

    Honestly? If you are happy with your answers? That’s all good. Peace is what we all search for. It is the most important.

    Of all the writings by Christians I have found most appropriate are those by John Bunyan and Pilgrim’s Progress. That pilgrim follows all paths searching for his peace. All diversions and obstacles before finding his heart’s desire. Find it he did. The narrative is dated but the overall destination seems clear. Bearing in mind, when it was written.

    Peace and boundless love, is all that we will find from the Creator. The rest is mind’s creation, set for our pleasure and little else. Mind wants control.

      I have just figured out I have missed a whole bunch of comments. So that means I have been missing a bunch all along.
      Trying to at least catch up on the one written in the last few weeks. That has already taken almost 2 hours.

    I know it looks very pretty but all those things around the act of meditation are duality. When meditation is the act of focusing on the one. Inside everyone is the word of God. It is a vibration. That is what is focussed on.

    Many people mistake the Word of God. For the words. Like a bible or q’ran, gita or testament. Those are the words of men and women. The Word may be spoken even if the person is deaf, dumb, or mentally challenged. The Word must be a one that all can meditate on. Or it is not universal.

    Watch an animal in repose. They are content. Yogis frequently meditate in harsh places. To demonstrate how they are able of focus on the Word, without distractions of comfort. For when immersed in that pool of love. Little else really matters. The mind makes a good servant but a poor master. Cheers Jamie.

    1. Jamie, Thank you for your comment and taking the time to write it.
      I am not sure how to respond to it. .
      I know I am enjoying learning about different ways to relax as much as I am enjoying learning about different cultures and how we learn to relax.
      I use to be able to relax walking or driving around the 20 thousand acres of the park and state property here.
      And In many ways I still can.
      I watch animals all day long from my windows here. They relax me or energize me depending on what they are doing.
      Most of all, I use to be able to read a book and totally relax. Now I have trouble sitting still.
      My mind won’t slow down.
      I am just searching right now.
      My Faith is strong and can handle whatever I read about.
      I am not questioning my faith.
      I am not questioning my God.
      It may look like it but I would never take any of this extremes.
      Why it all fascinates me like it does: I am not sure? I am fascinated and want to learn.
      It’s a good thing for me.
      Just like anything else. There is good meditation and not so good.
      I hope I made sense. I have trouble sometimes explaining what I mean.
