Making My Home A Haven is important to me. Sharing homemaking skills. Recipes and food. Bible Studies. This is a treasure chest of goodies. So take a seat. Have a glass of tea and enjoy. You will learn all about who I am.
“I think you should do something huge! Move! Start over!”
So many voices. They mean well, but every time someone tells me what they think we should do, my anxiety level increases and a knot forms in my stomach. We’ve faced so many life changes all at once, how could my heart take more?
I don’t think it could take more.
Loss. Change. Starting over. Facing all of this at the same time has left me feeling more disconnected than I have ever felt. Everything and everyone who was familiar have become distant. Yet, nothing…and nobody…has been sent to fill the void.
My real name is Debra (Debbie Sue). Sarah is a nickname given to me in high school. My husband has always called me that so here in Florida It's all I am known by. I was born and raised in Illinois. My son and I moved to Colorado in 1982. I taught school for 17 years. Then I ran a homeschooling/preschool/daycare until 2006 when I moved to Florida after my son, Bobby died suddenly. He was almost 26. Danny and I live and work at a state park here. I miss the mountains and climate of Colorado. I miss snow and the four seasons. I miss Bobby.
