How to Live a Luxurious Life (your income has nothing to do with it!)

Use the nice things you have

You already own luxury. Think about it:

Do you have a collection of fancy china? Keep it accessible and use it! Pull it out for Sunday dinners, a random Monday, a “just because” tea party with your girlfriends.

Do you have clothes or jewelry that are “too expensive” to wear? You’ll get far more pleasure out of owning them if you actually put them on! Take good care of them by all means, but don’t let them sit unworn in the name of preservation.

Do you have a stash of special chocolate or body lotion or perfume that you’re saving for just the right moment? A regular old Tuesday can be the right moment. I’ve thrown away little luxuries like these because the expiration date arrived long before the “right moment.” Don’t let that happen!

As my friend Hilary says, use what you love!

My real name is Debra (Debbie Sue). Sarah is a nickname given to me in high school. My husband has always called me that so here in Florida It's all I am known by. I was born and raised in Illinois. My son and I moved to Colorado in 1982. I taught school for 17 years. Then I ran a homeschooling/preschool/daycare until 2006 when I moved to Florida after my son, Bobby died suddenly. He was almost 26. Danny and I live and work at a state park here. I miss the mountains and climate of Colorado. I miss snow and the four seasons. I miss Bobby.

Please Comment. I don't care how long or how short. I want to hear from you.
