Bobby’s Cove

June 2012 · · Taken at Rolling Meadows Ranch, Lake Kissimmee State Park, Lake Wales, Florida
June 2012 – Birthday gift from Danny 2011. I’ve been wanting a good name for a favorite place of mine- of ours. I come here to talk to Bobby…. I’d been thinking along the lines of “OUR”…something….Danny surprised me by saying he wanted to call it “Bobby’s Cove”. He’s trying to make it the OFFICIAL name of this BODY of WATER. Water Management and the State Park ok’d it. Just waiting now.

Bobby’s Cove is the official name for the cove. It is not listed on any of the maps in the area. That is ok by me.
We were calling  a section of this area “Our Hidden Path”. When we first moved here there was no path through this area any more. It was totally grown over. Danny and I had looked at the map and wanted to see this section of the cove. SO we blazed out own little trail. Little by little.
Our hidden path has been underwater most of this last year due to flooding.

Oh, that is such a beautiful place. I can imagine very well how peaceful it is there and how you can connect with your son.

Erika, It really is beautiful. Or Was. To be honest, I loved it the way it was. The sod fields would have grown weedy and brownish looking with ugly plants if nothing had been done.
We loved driving all over for hours …Crisscrossing different sections of the sod fields. Not a lot of it you can’t get to anymore, except by boat. It is a different kind of beautiful. One of the main service roads stills looks about the same. It is higher up and goes all the way around.
There are actually 3 major renovation project going on right now and 2 more due to start soon. They are connect in certain ways but are separate. It’s hard to explain.
The first part of the cove is just a short walk from the house. Yes I do love to go there by myself and visit Bobby.
It’s not his mountain in Colorado but it is the best spot here in Florida.

You only need a spot you define as your meeting place with Bobby. It is a decision by the feeling.

I stay here because of moments like this. They come out of the blue and are wonderful. Danny can be so open when he wants to be or when he is able to be. 🙂

I know what you mean. But it is not always easy to accept and wait until he is ready to be open. There is that point where we need to accept how they function and find a way of dealing or not dealing with it, right?
