Making My Home A Haven is important to me. Sharing homemaking skills. Recipes and food. Bible Studies. This is a treasure chest of goodies. So take a seat. Have a glass of tea and enjoy. You will learn all about who I am.
There has been a lot of changes here over the past 6-7 years. We are reclaiming the land. Reverting it back to what it once was. Part of Lake Kissimmee. Pushing in the ditches from the sod farm, leveling out the land.
We once had miles and miles of paths here that we could travel MOST of the year. Now the land is under water in most places.
It is a continuing process. I also continue to pick of years and years of trash that was just left here by previous owners and their workers.

June 2012 – Birthday gift from Danny 2011. I’ve been wanting a good name for a favorite place of mine- of ours. I come here to talk to Bobby…. I’d been thinking along the lines of “OUR”…something….Danny surprised me by saying he wanted to call it “Bobby’s Cove”. He’s trying to make it the OFFICIAL name of this BODY of WATER. Water Management and the State Park ok’d it. Just waiting now.

Bobby’s Cove is the official name for the cove. It is not listed on any of the maps in the area. That is ok by me.
We were calling a section of this area “Our Hidden Path”. When we first moved here there was no path through this area any more. It was totally grown over. Danny and I had looked at the map and wanted to see this section of the cove. SO we blazed out own little trail. Little by little.
Our hidden path has been underwater most of this last year due to flooding.

“What if your words could drastically change the life of one person?
What if your listening ear could be the only thing that gave one person hope in humanity?
What if your smile, your hug, your laugh was the one thing that stopped someone from harming themselves?
I believe that we have the power to change people’s lives.
I believe that sometimes, people just need to know that one person cares about them.
I believe this so strongly, that I have chosen to spend the last 6 years of my life doing just that.
We are open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for teens in grades 6-12 from 2:30-5:00. We provide free snacks and drinks and give the teens opportunities to play pool, ping pong, football and air hockey. We also have laptop computers available and a printer for kids who need to print out homework!
Tuesdays, we are open from 3:30-5:00 for grades 1-5. We offer a structured time of games, snacks, and a Bible lesson. We also offer after school pick up!”
Video. “Your words could stop someone from cutting. Your words could give someone the courage to get out of bed in the morning. Your words could give someone the inspiration to pass a class. Your words. Your time. Your love. ”

A very special friend of mine on Facebook saw the photo below that I had posted and saw what few really take the time to notice. She saw a smile. A real smile, yet one that hides so many things. Just like my eyes. They both tell a story.
