New Bible Study – The Book of Luke – FREE Study Guide – Time-Warp Wife | Time-Warp Wife

As we enter this holiday season, I want to invite you to quiet you heart with me. I thought and I prayed about the best way to enter this holiday season, and as I reading the Word, I kept going back to the book of Luke. I couldn’t help but feel that the best way to prepare for the King was to get to know Him on a deeper level, and to drink from the well of His wisdom.

And so our study begins this Monday, November 21st and runs for four consecutive weeks, ending December 17th.

There are 24 chapters in Luke. Therefore, I suggest reading one chapter per day/six days a week bringing you to a complete four-week study.

Prepare {NOW} your HEART for tHIS CHRISTmas!

Prepare {NOW} your HEART for tHIS CHRISTmas!
Friday, November 8, 2013
Can you believe it? This week, Christmas commercials have been on television and Hallmark is playing Christmas movies non-stop {LOVE that!}. Stores are already advertising for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Our lovely town’s business open-houses are this weekend, and our downtown Christmas lights came on last night. It’s a beautiful sight that makes me all happy inside! 🙂
It’s fun to be able to lightly enjoy the coming Christmas season at a leisurely pace for a few days. However, as we all well know, within mere weeks schedules will become filled and pressure will be felt. So… now is the best time to do some pre-season preparation. {And I’m not talking about gift-purchasing, though that is a great idea, as well.}
What I’m talking about is the preparing of the heart.
The Christmas season gets so full and frantic that, though the season really IS about JESUS, if we aren’t intentional, we’ll leave Him completely out of it all. (Or He will be an afterthought, at best.) Isn’t that sadly true?
The traditions, the shopping, the decorating, the family gatherings, the ministries, the parties, the movies, the music… they are all wonderful and have their rightful places. But if we don’t prepare our hearts BEFORE we prepare our homes and holiday plans, though the calendar may look full, we can find ourselves empty and lonely inside.
It is with humility and hope that I admit that this is a work-in-progress for me. That’s why I am starting NOW to begin to prepare my heart for CHRISTmas.

If we’re going too fast for you—slow down. Go at your own pace. If it takes you two months to complete the study, so be it. This isn’t homework, this is an opportunity to fellowship with God, to quiet your heart during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, and to find rest in His presence.

There’s a FREE study guide below in which I have provided you with a list of questions for each chapter. This doesn’t mean that you have to tackle every single question. You might want to answer two or three of them each day, and some days you may prefer to answer them all. The questions are simply a method to get you thinking, cross referencing, and rightly dividing the Word. For many of the questions, our answers could be different as God is speaking to each of us in a unique way.

Please note: The study guide is 85 pages. If that is too much for you to print, simply read it on your computer, and record your thoughts in a journal

Finding Joy in the Ordinary Days of Homemaking – Young Wife’s Guide

Keeping a Joyful Heart in the Mundane Tasks of Home Keeping
Let’s be honest for a minute shall we?

Cleaning is no fun. It just isn’t, especially when you live in an active house with growing children, the house doesn’t stay clean for long. Just because it isn’t fun doesn’t mean we don’t have to do it. We do!

Part of our role as the keeper of our home involves tasks that are often mundane. While they aren’t necessarily the most fun things to do, I’ve found a few simple disciplines that have helped me to enjoy doing them and also look forward to them.

Pray Over Your Home
When was the last time you prayed over your home? I mean pray over the specific rooms and the people who live there?

Why not take the time while you are cleaning to offer up prayers?

Making Your Home A Haven Series : From All Over The Internet  Part 1 (Comments From Sarah)

Cook things with pleasant aromas like homemade bread, pies, and cookies. Don’t wait to have a reason to make something special – do it simply to show love to your family. Invite your kids and/or hubby to cook along side of you – make memories in the kitchen – test tasting, being creative, laughing and loving. Remember the importance of dinner time around the table as a family.

Live out the fruit of the Spirit this week by showing
love, goodness and faithfulness to your family.

Quieting Your Hearts Bible Study- Learning To Love

From Sarah: For Advent I posted and shared Darlene’s Quieting Your Heart For The Holidays. It was amazing. I am excited to be starting another Quieting Your Heart Series. It goes along with Making Your Home A Haven that Women Living Well Does. (This is MY OPINION). They are 2 separate series by 2 separate…

Assess the Situation

Looking around the living room floor of my mind I am surrounded. There is stuff everywhere. Garbage mixed with forgotten gifts. Old, dirty laundry next to that special thing I had forgotten about. Clean, perfectly functional things that are covered in the cobwebs of neglect.

You see, when we’re cleaning something out, really deep cleaning, things often look worse before they look better. But if we know that going in we can push through to something more beautiful. But the question covering every thought, every feeling is what now?

Now that we’ve dug out some of the mess that was hiding in our hearts what do we do with it?
