A Net In Times Schooling :
Five Minute Friday :
WANT VERSES NEED
This wasn’t meant for our Ecclesiastes Bible Study but it fits well.
WISDOM FOR LIVING WELL. A good subtitle for Courtney’s workbook.
Solomon tried to fill all his wants and desires. He could have anything he wanted. Yet, he was not satisfied.
His WANTS kept growing. What he thought he NEEDED wasn’t being filled.
He was still empty.
We are always searching.
I have noticed a change in me over the years.
BEFORE all the TECHNOLOGY we have at our hands TODAY,
I found I was more content.
I read ALL THE TIME. BOOKS.
Real ones that I could hold in my hand.
Now I download freebies every day. And I still want more.
I spend hours search Facebook and other avenues. Always searching.
Courtney said it well in her latest video.
“We are constantly scrolling”.
Check out her latest post / video on womenlivingwell.org.

In case you missed it this morning:
Here is Friday’s Bible Verse.
From Ecclesiastes 2 : 26.
What has God Showed You Today? This week?
I am still taking prayer requests.
Either comment below or send me a private email
Have a good rest of the day.
Enjoy your weekend.
Love From Our Neck Of The Woods,
Sorry I didn’t get Wednesday’s Bible Studies out to you. I did mine early Wednesday morning but wasn’t able to use the internet. So here is both Wednesday’s And Thursday’s with the usual review of the day before.
Chapter 8: TheDedication of the Levites
Chapter 9: The Celebration of the Passover
Numbers 7. The Israelites were generous and supported the work of the tabernacle through their gifts. God took notice of each person and gift. In the same way, we must be generous to the ministry of the Lord as well. God sees and He knows – we are not overlooked by God
“Sometimes life throws us a curve ball. As we seek to make our homes a haven, reality strikes — headaches, hormones, financial pressures, and difficult relationships stand in the way of our dreams.
Recently, I was listening to a speaker who said, “we should balance every negative interaction with 10 positive ones
There is power in being a positive woman! Your family will smile back at you! It’s contagious!
Last week, I encouraged you to light a candle and pray for peace and patience in your home. I want to again – encourage you to continue lighting your candles and this week – let’s add to our candle, classical, worship or upbeat music that your family enjoys.
It has a strange effect on people. Certain songs can flood our minds with good memories. Others can touch a painful and tender place deep inside of us and cause us to cry. Other songs make us lift our hands in worship or to break down and boogie!”
Here’s this week’s challenge:
Keep your candles burning, your prayers going and add soft music in your home. Choose worship, classical, jazz or another form of peaceful music that the family enjoys. Focus on using peaceful words and maintaining peaceful relationships. Work on gentleness and self-control this week.
Bonus Challenge – Try exchanging every negative interaction with 5 positives ones(10 is a bit much! Lol!). We started doing this in our home last week and it brought a lot of laughs but also a lot of awareness to the kids and my husband and I of how often we are negative! It sure isn’t easy to live out but there is power in being a positive woman.”
As You may already have read, I started playing music during the day when Danny was gone and again when Danny was not in the kitchen.
He is hard of hearing sometimes and music often distracts him when we are talking.
I started off with Mozart. I have been switching between that and a few other CD’S . One of Which Is Alan Jackson’s Gospel Music . I enjoy it.
I am using my mini crock pot with candle wax in it instead of the candle more often now. I can leave it on without worry about it every minute.
Danny commented the other night how much he has enjoyed the apple scent.
I guess maybe an apple pie would be good.
It’s been a long time since I have baked a pie.
That would make the kitchen smell wonderful.
I am really enjoying this challenge.
I find myself in a better MOOD ALL DAY LONG which sets the stage for OUR NIGHTS.
Am I going to do the Bonus Challenge?
Bonus Challenge – Try exchanging every negative interaction with 5 positives ones. I am Certainly going to work on it.
The best part of this challenge. I finally told Danny about the Fall Challenge. He didn’t say anything for awhile and then he said, “I like it.” Then he surprised me with this request: “Can I Pick Some Music Out? “ I didn’t hesitate. (Danny and I don’t always agree on music. In FACT, WE SELDOM AGREE.
SO I AM TRUSTING HIM TO PICK SOMETHING I WILL LIKE AS WELL.
THIS COULD GET INTERESTING.)
How is the Pay It Forward Challenge Going?
Have you put your cell phones away when you are in the company of others? How is this family time? They asked and answered a question but neither stopped what they were doing.
This is NOT good family time.
Why go out and eat if you are going to talk /text on the phone while you are there?
You are missing a great opportunity to simply have fun.
So the MONTH’S ONGOING CHALLENGE CONTINUES:
To work on NOT having the cell phone on
and at the table during meal times.
If it must be on, put it on a counter AWAY from the table.
This Weeks NEW Challenge Is TWO – FOLD.
1. Eat your meals together.
If not all of them, then at least one meal a day.
2. To Say Grace at least at one meal a day.
Say it together. Say it silently. Say it.
Teach your kids to thank God/ Jesus for the blessings you receive.
Thank you for the food we are about to eat. ……
Do I say prayers at meal times?
Honestly, Not as much as I should.
If I eat in the kitchen, yes I do.
Danny and I seldom eat together any more.
I usually don’t eat breakfast so Danny eats his in the computer room.
Do we eat lunch together….It depends on if he is already on the computer. Usually he is.
Danny will eat dinner/supper at the table . I usually sit with him. He will eat RIGHT before going to bed. Midnight and later
Our family always ate together. So did Bobby and I. Always.
Come Lord Jesus,
Be Our Guest.
You can eat your meal anywhere as long as you eat together.
Has anyone had a CLEANUP PARTY at the beach or park?
What about Telling Your Husband/Wife
that you love them?
I’ve said it once.
It was hard for me to say it.
Once it was so easy.
It is easier for me to show it.
Have you told your children how much you love them?
What about writing a Letter?
